Star Ferry

The Star Ferry is a ferry between Kowloon and Hong Kong Island. The ferries sail to the other side of Victoria Harbour and only passengers on board. A trip to the other takes about 10 minutes. Ticket machines are on the piers. It takes a few Hong Kong dollars. The Star Ferry is one of the major tourist attractions in Hong Kong. There are 2 Star Ferry routes.

Ferry from Tsim Sha Tsui to Central

This is the main route with the most passengers. Tsim Sha Tsui is the most southern part of Kowloon. Shopping centre Harbour City is next to the ferry terminal. Close by starts shopping street Nathan Road. In Central, the ferry terminal is close to the skyscraper Two International Finance Centre and the luxury Four Seasons Hotel. First boats leaves at 6.30, last boats at 23.30. In peak periods, 10 boats sail every hour. Fare is HKD2/2.5 lower deck/upper deck. In the weekens it’s a bit more. A Tourist ticket (4 days) cost HKD34.

Ferry from Tsim Sha Tsui to Wan Chai

The terminal in Wanchai is next to the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. Close by are the 5 star hotels Renaissance Harbour View and Grand Hyatt Hong Kong. Nearby are the shopping malls and department stores in Causeway Bay.
