    Hong Kong International Airport is built on a large artificial island about 40km from Hong Kong's city centre. The airport links 150 destinations around the world including 40 cities in mainland China. In 2009, more than 46 million passengers used the airport.

    Airport Express
    The Airport Express takes passengers from the airport to Hong Kong Station at Central in 24 minutes. It runs daily between 05.50 in the morning till 01.15 at night with a frequency of every 12 minutes. There are no other trains to the airport.
    Fare of a single journey is HKD100, a return is HKD180.
    The Airport ExpressTravel Pass is an interesting offer for tourists. It gives 3 days of unlimited travel on the underground in the city centre + single/return with the Airport Express. The card cost HKD220/300 including a HKD50 refundable deposit. It can be purchased at the airport on arrival.

    public bus to/from the city
    Public buses are an inexpensive and convenient transport option. The A21 for example connect the airport with Hung Hom Station in Kow Loon. Operating hours 06.00 - 24.00. Fare is HKD33. The night bus N21 (operating hours 00.20-04.40) goes to Tsim Sha Tsui (Star Ferry). Fare HKD23.

    hotel bus
    Hotel coaches are available to take passengers to and from 45 major hotels in Hong Kong. Boarder point is in the Coach Station at Terminal 2. Fare for a single trip is HKD130 (Kowloon) and HKD150 (HK Island).

    taxi
    The Taxi Station at the airport is just outside the arrivals hall.
    A taxi from the airport to Hung Hom Station or Tsim Sha Tsui is HKD225
    A taxi to Central, Admiralty, Wanchai or Causeway Bay is HKD280.
    A taxi to Stanley/Repulse Bay is HKD340/360.

    bus to Guangzhou
    The airport also provide extensive land and sea connections to cities nearby in mainland China. A trip to Guangzhou centre with one of the bus coaches takes between 2.30-3.30 hours and cost HKD178/220. The bus makes stops at Jinan University, Haizhu, Liuhuajinhan Exhibition Center Station, Dongfang Hotel and coach station in Guangzhou.

    SkyPier at Hong Kong airport provides speedy ferry services to mainland China for transit passengers only. Destinations are: Dongguan Humen, Guangzhou Nansha, Macao (Maritime Ferry Terminal), Macao (Taipa), Shenzhen Fuyong, Shenzhen Shekou, Zhongshan and Zhuhai Jiuzhou.
